The new passport has new security features and a microchip within the page which contains your personal information. The introduction of the Bio-Metric passport ushers in the era of modernisation and puts Seychelles on par with international norms. The new passports have improved security features which also lessens the like-hood of fraud.<br><br>The process does not require an application form,applicants&nbsp;are required present themselves at the enrolment office and present the appropriate documents to the customer service agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Citizens applying for passport renewal are required to submit their old passport and National Identity Number card, to the enrolment officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are applying for the first time you need to provide your National Identity Number card.<br><br>Applicants are then vetted and all details are documented. Once completed applicants may proceed to cashier for payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upon completion of payment applicants submit their bio-data as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Photograph, fingerprints and digital signature are taken. Receipt of payment remains with the applicant for collection.&nbsp;<br>Collection may be done 72 hours (3 working days) after enrollment.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Biometric Passport Enrolment for overseas applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>(Seychellois students and the Diaspora population)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Renewal of Passports\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;The applicant will forward copy of his\/her current\/ expiring or expired passport to immigration office in Seychelles for verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The contact person is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Senior Immigration Officer of Passport Section<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tel: +248 293626 Email:&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:gfrancoise@immigration.gov.sc\">gfrancoise@immigration.gov.sc<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Once verification is completed, applicant will be informed to proceed for enrolment at the designated enrolment station. He\/ She should bring along his\/her expiring or expired passport\u00a0<strong>(1)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the enrolment station, the applicant will settle payment in respect of\u00a0<strong>passport fee<\/strong><strong>(2)<\/strong>\u00a0(Equivalent of SR750). This should be done by bank transfer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upon confirmation of payment by Treasury, the passport\u2019s payment receipt is raised in Seychelles and only then that the passport can be personalised and printed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minor children who are renewing passport, will require to produce their Birth Certificate to ensure the parental link with the accompanying parent\u00a0<strong>(3).<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The captured\u00a0<strong>biometric information<\/strong>\u00a0is submitted electronically to immigration headquarters in Victoria, Seychelles for Personalisation and production of the passport.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The newly produced passport is returned to the overseas station by courier service, three weeks after the receipt of the applicant\u2019s expired\/expiring passport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>New passport Application<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The applicant\u2019s status as a\u00a0<strong>Seychellois citizen (4)<\/strong>\u00a0needs to be first and foremost established.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Birth certificate of the applicant and other necessary documents, will need to be submitted.\u00a0<strong>Authentication of documents (5)\u00a0<\/strong>is a must. It can be done at the nearest High Court in the country of the applicant\u2019s residence.
